what we did
A programme built on the similarities and contrasts between arias by Bach and Händel written for soprano, violin and basso continuo. Bach's come from the cantatas; Händel's belong to the German Arias collection, here with ornaments written by harpsichordist Nicolau de Figueiredo. Recorded at Studio Clio, Porto Alegre.
Programme: arias Ich bin vergnügt in meinem Leiden, from Cantata BWV 58, and Auch mit gedämpften schwachen Stimmen, from Cantata BWV 36; Cantabile, ma poco adagio, from the Sonata for violin and harpsichord BWV 1019a; Singe, Seele, Gott zum Preise HWV 206 and Süßer Blumen Ambraflocken HWV 204, from the German Arias.
